Safeguarding adults is the process of protecting an individual's right to live safely, free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation, as defined by the Care Act 2014.
This applies to any adult aged 18 or over who may be unable to protect themselves due to mental illness, disability, physical or cognitive impairment, or other vulnerabilities. Abuse can occur as a result of a single incident or repeated actions and may be intentional or arise through neglect or omission.
In line with NHS guidance, safeguarding concerns may include, but are not limited to:
- Neglect and Acts of Omission
- Bullying and Harassment
- Financial or Material Abuse
- Sexual Abuse
- Physical Abuse
- Psychological or Emotional Abuse
- Discriminatory Abuse
- Institutional or Organisational Abuse
At Khidr Care, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for individuals affected by any form of abuse or neglect. We accept referrals involving all safeguarding concerns and work closely with residents, healthcare professionals, local authorities, and support networks to restore confidence, promote wellbeing, and rebuild personal independence.
Our approach focuses on implementing safeguarding measures that are both preventative and proportionate, ensuring that every individual receives the protection, support, and advocacy they need while maintaining their dignity, rights, and personal autonomy.
